Letter to 8th grade parents (NRHS Class of 2017)
Below is the timeline required to ensure all students have a schedule by the end of the school year.
Course Selection Process and Timeline
- January 28th-February 8th -HS team meets with middle school 8th grade teams
o Department heads share course recommendation criteria with 8th grade teachers
- February 11th-March 13th- Teacher recommendations
- March 5th-NRHS hosts Grade 8 Student/Parent Night and Student Program in high school auditorium from 6PM-8:30PM
- March 18th- March 22nd - Students register for classes in computer labs
o March 15th - April 1st - Parent Portal Open
- April 1st -Students' intent to override course recommendations due to 8th grade guidance counselors
- May 13th - Override paperwork due to 8th grade guidance counselors
- May 13th - May 31st - Department heads communicate with 8th grade teachers and make override decisions
- June 3rd - Deadline for HS department heads to communicate override decisions to 8th grade students, parents, and teachers, ccing high school administrators and guidance.
- Afternoon Tours of NRHS - 3:30 to 4:40pm
